D. Ian M. Wallace (known as Ian Wallace or D.I.M. Wallace, or by his initials DIMW) is a British bird watcher, author and artist. He lives in Staffordshire still painting and observing. Ian was the second chairman of the British Birds Rarities Committee, has served on RSPB Council, and was the Editor (Field Characters) of The Birds of the Western Palearctic. He wrote for many years in Birdwatching Magazine and is to many an inspiration in the world of birds and birding. First sparked in 1972 his passion for Flamborough is well known. In 2000 he kindly agreed to be our Honorary Life President - firstly of Flamborough Orninthological Group (known affectionately as FOG), and more recently of Flamborough Bird Observatory. |
